Who We Are
ABOUT US
Helping youth and their families change their outcomes.
Mission
AFJ Collective is a collective of business and community leaders who work to influence and enhance political, economic, and criminal justice systems to bring positive change to African American families, schools and communities.
Vision
This work is done through advocacy; resource development; cross system collaboration; and organized engagement with city, state and community leadership as well as community members and stakeholders.
How We Got Started
The Action for Justice Collective was established in 2020 by a group of concerned community leaders, business owners, athletic coaches, and friends who came together on a Zoom call to support each other while grappling with the reality of George Floyd's murder by local police. After a 90-minute session, the group discussed and not just complaining about senseless violence in the community but being part of the solution. At that moment, they decided to act and, be the community's solution rather than just complainers. And so, the Action for Justice Collective was born.
